Dr Christophe Laveaux will help you make the best choice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Guidelines for the procedure<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The surgeon changes the infrastructure of the nose bone and its cartilage, and can thus <strong>erase a bump, reduce the size (portrait and\/or profile), correct certain asymmetries or straighten a crooked nose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In most cases the incisions are hidden inside the nostrils. Sometimes additional incisions are needed to reduce the size of the nostrils or to alter the tip of the nose (wide tip, incorrect angle, asymmetrical etc\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. The duration varies between 1 and 2 hours. It is removed after 10 days.<br \/>\nDoctor Laveaux does not perform wound packing. Only small, easy-to-remove silicone plates are used during the nasal septum procedures. Small pieces of Paraffin Tulle gauze dressing are inserted into the nostrils for 24 hours.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n    Pain, if any, is easily relieved by simple analgesics.<br \/>Discomfort to breathe through the nose is normal during the first days.<br \/>Swelling and bruising around the eyes occurs and will disappear in 1-2 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The patient may resume a normal social and professional life 10-20 days after the operation. Contact sports can only be resumed after 3 months.\n<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Risk of complications<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>As with any surgery, a number of complications can occur. This procedure can be performed alone or in combination with a more global rhinoplasty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Guidelines for the procedure<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Several techniques exist depending on the extent of the desired reduction:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The inter-nostril suture technique brings the 2 nostrils closer to each other without any visible scar. This method is possible for small reductions in the size of the nostrils.<\/li>\n<li>Techniques with incision allow part of the nostrils to be removed. The scar is more or less extended from the base of the nostril to the external nostril groove.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When the nostril surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, a simple local anaesthetic is sufficient.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Postoperative effects<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Postoperative after effects are manageable and painless. The sutures are removed after 5 to 7 days.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of scarring, makeup can be used immediately after removal of the stitches.
