Its proportion decreases with age (a 50% decrease by 50 years of age), the skin becomes dehydrated and loses tone.<\/p>\n<p>Marketed in an injectable form (Restylane<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Juvederm<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Fillmed by Filorga<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Teoxane<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, \u2026.), <strong>hyaluronic acid dermal filler is the safest, most natural and biodegradable (dissolvable) option<\/strong>. As it has been used for several years in aesthetics, its safety has been proven.<\/p>\n<p>The thickness or fluidity of injected Hyaluronic acid depends on the condition to be treated. The thicker the injection the more viscous it is, and the longer the result. Wrinkles will be treated with hyaluronic acid to the depth of the wrinkle.<br \/>\nHighly cross-linked acids make it possible to<br \/>\n<strong> restore facial volume<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hyaluronic acid is frequently used for the following indications:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Treatment of wrinkles and folds<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>While <a href=\"\/en\/aesthetic-medicine\/main-techniques\/botulinum-toxin-injections\/\">Botulinum toxin injections<\/a> are mainly used for deep wrinkles caused by muscle contractions (frown lines, forehead, crow\u2019s feet\u2026), the hyaluronic acid injections are primarily used to <strong>treat permanent wrinkles and folds.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The most common conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>frown lines<\/strong> where treatment with Botox has been insufficient;<\/li>\n<li>nasolabial folds;<\/li>\n<li>vertical wrinkles of the cheeks;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;marionette lines&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Restoration of facial volume<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>To <strong>restore the volume<\/strong>,  hyaluronic acid injections (treatment done at the doctor\u2019s office, with reversible results) are an alternative to fat injections (with anaesthesia, permanent result).<\/p>\n<p>The hyaluronic acid injections can be used to restore volume for the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lips aesthetics<\/strong> (contouring or restoring volume);<\/li>\n<li>Increased volume in  <strong>cheekbones<\/strong> ;<\/li>\n<li>Correct hollows and tear troughs ;<\/li>\n<li>Improve earlobes ;<\/li>\n<li>Increase <strong>chin<\/strong> volume ;<\/li>\n<li>Filling <strong>hollow cheeks<\/strong> ;<\/li>\n<li>Filling <strong>hollow temples<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Improvement of the <strong>facial oval<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Non-surgical rhinoplasty<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Hyaluronic acid helps <strong>reduce imperfections on the nose<\/strong> but is not as effective as surgical <a href=\"\/en\/cosmetic-surgery\/face-and-neck-surgery\/cosmetic-nose-sugery\/\">Rhinoplasty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The easiest flaw to be corrected with hyaluronic acid is the <strong> bump in the back of the nose<\/strong>. However, abnormalities to the tip, or small imperfections after surgical rhinoplasty can also be improved by hyaluronic acid injections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Non-surgical facelift<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Injections of fillers may delay the need for a surgical facelift when the skin is not too loose. Some injection sites at the cheekbones can have a <strong> lifting effect<\/strong>. Other injections at the bottom of the face can smooth out the jowls and bring back a symmetrical oval face.<\/p>\n<p>It is advisable to not overuse injections at the risk of obtaining bad results. After a certain age surgery is the most effective option and injections are considered to be complementary, rather than an alternative to surgery.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Hand rejuvenation<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Hyaluronic acid corrects some effects of ageing by filling the visible hollows.<\/p>\n<p>Blemishes can be removed with a <a href=\"\/en\/aesthetic-medicine\/main-techniques\/peeling\/\/\"> chemical peel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Breast and buttocks augmentation<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>A very dense and highly cross-linked version (Hyacorp<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, previously called Macrolane<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>), is used to <strong> increase the volume of buttocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Laveaux does not inject hyaluronic acid into the breasts due to the inconvenience for the radiological monitoring of the breasts. There are other safer and permanent methods that should be used: <a href=\"\/en\/cosmetic-surgery\/breast-surgery\/breast-augmentation\/\">breast implants<\/a> or <a href=\"\/en\/cosmetic-surgery\/breast-surgery\/breast-augmentation\/#augm-mam-injections\">fat injections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, pertaining to the buttocks, hyaluronic acid injections is a viable option along with <a href=\"\/en\/cosmetic-surgery\/silhouette-cosmetic-surgery\/buttock-surgery\/\">surgical augmentation<\/a> (fat injections or implants).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>G-spot augmentation and vaginoplasty<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The G-spot area ranges from 1 to 2 cm<sup>2<\/sup> and is located at the anterior vaginal wall.<\/p>\n<p>In women who have <strong>difficulty having a vaginal orgasm<\/strong> or women who want to  <strong>increase their pleasure<\/strong>, this area can be increased with hyaluronic acid and performed under local anaesthesia.<\/p>\n<p>Injections in the entire vaginal wall cause a decrease in vaginal size thus <strong>heightening the sensations experienced by both partners during sex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>\n<h3>Penis enlargement<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>For patients who do not wish to undergo surgery, injections of highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid can be administered to <strong>increase the girth of the penis<\/strong>. The injections are performed under a simple local anaesthetic at the doctor\u2019s office. The injections must be repeated about every 12 months to maintain the size of the penis. Stopping of the injections is possible without any side effects.<\/p>\n<p>The injections can be administered specifically at the head, either in addition to penis enlargement (by lipofilling or Hyaluronic acid), or separately. The <strong>injections are painless<\/strong> after application of a numbing cream. Injections of hyaluronic acid in the head will <strong>increase the volume<\/strong> and also <strong>multiply by ten the sensations during sexual intercourse<\/strong>. Hyaluronic acid injections in the head of penis can <strong>treat premature ejaculation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<h3>Practical information<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The hyaluronic acid Injections are administered in Dr Laveaux\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Before the session<\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove makeup;<\/li>\n<li>Avoid taking aspirin or other blood thinners for 10 days before the injections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>The procedure<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Depending on the treated areas, local anaesthesia may be proposed either by the application of an ointment or injections with a fine needle. The injections are painless.<\/p>\n<p>Hyaluronic acid is then either injected with a fine needle, or soft tube.<\/p>\n<p>Duration varies according to the treated areas (10 to 60 min).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>After the injections<\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediate return to normal activities;<\/li>\n<li>Apply ice and gently massage the treated areas to reduce swelling ;<\/li>\n<li>Avoid taking aspirin or other blood thinners for 10 days following the injections;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThe results are immediate, but because of hydration induced by the presence of hyaluronic acid and edema, they develop during the first few days.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>The effect is reversible.The lasting effect of the results varies according to the density of the injected product. The average is between 6 and 18 months. To maintain the desired effect, injections need to be renewed.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of a session varies depending on the amount of product used.<\/p>\n<p>Some mild side effects are possible, including small bruises or redness at the injection site that disappear within a few days.<\/p>\n<p>Granulomas (small palpable Lumps under the skin) are rare with hyaluronic acid. They are spontaneously re-absorbed.<\/p>\n<p>Top-up treatments are sometimes necessary to achieve the desired result. They are done after 2 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Although hyaluronic acid is spontaneously resorbable, an antidote (hyaluronidase) exists which allows partial or total resorption of the product within 24 <strong>deeply rehydrates the skin without plumping<\/strong>. The rehydrated skin is thus <strong>firmer and more elastic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Skinboosters are mainly used to  <strong>treat fine lines of the face, the decollete and\/or the back of the hands<\/strong> however other methods can be used.<\/p>\n<p>Normally 1 to 3 sessions, 15-30 days apart, are needed to achieve the desired result.
